Penn State opened the final 10 minutes or so of Wednesday’s practice to the media. As usual, we were there. And now we’re here to give you a feel for what went down via our practices images. As you know, we are not allowed to show photos that give away formations or strategy, nor pictures that might highlight an injury to a player that had not been previously disclosed.
But there was still a lot to see. Veterans of our slideshows know that if you examine the photos closely, you’ll pick up plenty of information. And for non-veterans, well, we’ll help you see what you need to see with our captions.
This week we show some of the usual suspects (Trace McSorley, James Franklin, KJ Hamler), give you a look at two true freshmen (Pat Freiermuth and Micah Parsons) making big plays, show a player poised to return to action (Shane Simmons) and catch an assistant coach giving Parsons directions right before the young LB made a big play.
No. 8 Penn State (4-1, 1-1) faces Michigan State (3-2, 1-1) in a Big Ten East game at Beaver Stadium Saturday (3:30 p.m., BTN). It is Homecoming week for the Nittany Lions.
